Monthly Recap : July

Sunday, August 7, 2016

I'm officially going back to my very busy life! I start school on the 18th, and I *sort of* hoping that the busy part start on August. Of course, who am I kidding--it's senior year! It's not senior year if it's not busy and chaotic. So yeah, that's why I can't blog and read as much as I want to.

On a happier note, I took a trip with my family to a nearby town and it's so beautiful there! There's a lot of green scenery and so different from what I used to see at my city. I actually took some pictures, but I'm too lazy to put it here xD

Also on a completely unrelated with my life, CURSED CHILD IS RELEASED! Believe it or not, I actually hesitate to pre-order it because I'm not a fan of script, but after seeing a lot of pictures in the #cursedchild on twitter (which I regret because those midnight release pic made me jealous), now I really want to buy it!

Bookstagram

I'm basically obsessed with bookstagram earlier this month! I even participate in a challenge and manage to post most of it. There's a lot of beautiful bookish pictures in instagram *swoony eyes* I actually began bookstagramming at the beginning of this year, but due to busy school and busy life, I can't post much (because you know, it literally took hours to take 2-3 books pictures. Bookstagram isn't as easy as it seems, peeps!). Anyway, here's some of my pictures :

I have something to announce regarding my blog! After thinking for a while, I've decided to make The Bookish Thought a book AND lifestyle blog! If you follow me on twitter, I've mentioned that I feel like my blog is so boring, so I'm trying to find a way to make it less boring by adding something new. I choose lifestyle since it's I've been reading a lot of lifestyle blog lately and it's something that I'm (currently) interested in. Don't worry though, the book part is obviously more than the lifestyle part! Also, because of senior year and all, I'll be in semi-hiatus. I'll try to post as much as I can, but if suddenly I disappear for a few months (especially in January - April next year), that's because of school!

Anyway, here's what I post this month :

July, aside being a low blogging month, is also a low reading month. I only finished 5 books (compared to last month, in which I read 11), excluding Scarlet, which I've been reading for a month now. Here's what I read :

The Year We Fell Apart by Emily Martin
P.S. I Like You by Kasie West
Fallen Too Far by Abbi Glines
Never Too Far by Abbi Glines
Forever Too Far by Abbi Glines

How's your July?

  1. Ooh I like that you're going to add lifestyle posts. I think of my blog as entertainment/lifestyle, with a large dose of books! Besides, do what makes you happy and keeps you interested, right?

  4. I'm glad I'm not the only one who takes forever to take pictures. Some people make it look so effortless, but it takes me way too long to take pictures that don't look nearly as fabulous as other people's. But I still like doing it now and again, so I figure I'll just do it my way and at my pace and not worry about it.

I prefer books that make me think more - though sometimes a light read is just what I need in the moment! This book sounds like it delves into some serious issues, but also does it with humor at times - could be an interesting mix!

  5. Goodluck in your senior year. Me too I'm in a Senior Year in College, and it's hard for me to balance blog and study.
It is great idea to add lifestyle in your blog since you can't read most of the times. :)
